Macon Kennel Club members enjoy working together with their dogs and earning Trick Dog Titles.

Dog owners enjoy bonding with their dogs while teaching and performing tricks. Dog tricks can be as simple as “sit”, “down”, “speak” or as complicated as “fetch a drink from the fridge”. 

Some MKC members have trick dogs that entertain students in schools or the elderly in nursing homes. Some have performed in local fairs or festivals. Some teach tricks as a means of helping their dog gain confidence. Some just do tricks because it is FUN for the dog!

The AKC awards titles to dogs that perform tricks from a checklist in the title application and in the presence of an Approved CGC Evaluator. The Macon Kennel Club is fortunate to have an active member who is an Approved, Evaluator! Trick Titles awarded by the AKC include Novice (TKN), Intermediate (TKI), Advanced (TKA), Performer (TKP), and Elite Performer (TKE).

The AKC also accepts titles that have been awarded by the “Do More With Your Dog’ program. Verification of these titles needs to be included with the AKC Trick Dog application.  Applications for all Trick Dog Titles can be found on the AKC Home page.

The Macon Kennel Club has a wonderful indoor, heated and Air Conditioned facility that is available to members for group open mat sessions, to learn, share and practice tricks with our dogs.
